In the summer of 2023, we spontaneously fell in love with a romantic thatched-roof cottage from 1880 with an attached former carpentry workshop in idyllic Atzbüll. Four generations of carpenters have lived and worked here. In summer 2024, we finalized the refurbishment of our charming guest apartment “ALTE TISCHLEREI”. And the best part is: You can rent it - for vacations or e.g. for a change of scenery in your home office

Our village is only one very quiet side street with 20 houses, surrounded by meadows and fields. Our house is located quietly, but not lonely, in the green, with nice neighbors to the right and left, 3 relaxed Demeter cows in the pasture behind the house, as well as many birds, deer, squirrels, rabbits and bees. The view of the colorful garden, the hilly landscape of Angeln and the wide sky is awesome!
Getting there:
By car (Google Maps), exit from A7 "Tarp".
You can also get there by bike with Deutsche Bahn – the best way to get there is to go to Sörup. From there it is only a 7 km bike ride. From Süderbrarup it is 10 km.
Car-free areas in the region should also facilitate the regional mobility project with e-shuttle buses.

Baltic Sea coast. Schlei.
Protected nature.
Angeln, the land between the Schlei and Flensburg Fjord, offers many scenic and cultural attractions.
Walks and bike tours can be started directly from the house. The nearest beach, Ohrfeldhaff, with its wonderful walk across the Oestergaard Estate, is only 4 km "up the road". Numerous other beaches invite you for a swim, kiting or surfing.
A panoramic coastal path leads from the Falshöft Lighthouse directly into the nature reserve ‘Geltinger Birk’ with its wild horses and over 90 species of breeding birds.
If you go for urbanity: The historic cities of Flensburg and Schleswig are just a 30 minutes drive away. The Schlei region with Kappeln and Arnis, the picturesque smallest town of Germany, is only 20 minutes away by car.
Infrastructure
Directly opposite the church, 10 minutes' walk away, Hansen´s bakery bakes fresh bread and cakes!
The nearest Edeka supermarket is in Sterup, just 3 km away.
A good local shopping center with various larger markets, a fish stand, coin laundry, petrol station, bank, pharmacy etc. await you in Steinbergkirche, 7 km away.
We are happy to recommend several (very) good restaurants within a 3-10 km radius.
CONDITIONS
90 Euro per day (incl. VAT), final cleaning 50 Euro. Minimum stay 5 nights. Arrival from 3 pm, departure until 11 am.
Prepayment on booking; cancellation up to 30 days before arrival free of charge, from then on 100%. Just in case, we recommend that you take out travel cancellation insurance.
After much deliberation, we have decided to only rent to human beings.

We,
Jana and Gunnar, live about half the week in the adjoining house with our (friendly) Irish Terrier Smutje.
In the remaining time, we live in Hamburg or regularly travel the world, especially professionally in the "global south". We are happy to seize the chance to incorporate our diverse inspiring experiences with hospitality into our ‘guests workshop’.

Equipment
Our ‘guest workshop’ has 2 individually designed floors, connected by a (steep but solid) wooden staircase. The first floor is an open-plan, studio-like living and dining area with kitchenette, red split clinker flooring (perhaps take slippers with you), a Danish wood-burning stove and a nice seating area in the garden.
On the top floor you will find a large bedroom with a view, a (separable) double bed and a workdesk, as well as a small sleeping chamber with a wonderful view and limited headroom. Upstairs there is also a pretty bathroom and various storage spaces.
Car and bicycle parking spaces, a wallbox with green electricity for e-cars, fiber optic WLAN, TV, radio, central heating, good kitchen equipment, dishwasher, welcome coffee/tea, garden furniture, barbecue, this & that are of course included. Hairdryer, organic soaps, bed linen and towels too.
